We worked with the Administration for Children and Families Office of Head Start (formerly Head Start Bureau) to develop a national self-assessment guide for Head Start programs, “Head Start Self-Assessment: Your Foundation for Building Program Excellence”.

To support the Guide, we conducted a series of trainings for Head Start federal staff and Technical Assistance Network staff in the twelve Administration for Children and Families Regional Offices throughout the country.

The purpose of the trainings was to familiarize regional Head Start leaders and staff with the guide, and share strategies for supporting grantees in using the guide to design strong systems for self-assessment, strengthen programs, and improve outcomes for children and families.
