Posted on: 11/19/07

The University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute was awarded the Administration for Children and Families Compassion Capital Fund Demonstration grant, a comprehensive initiative to build and enhance the organizational capacity and sustainability of faith-based and community organizations serving at-risk youth, low income families, and families in transition.  This is a three year initiative covering the Berkshire and Barnstable Counties.

The Compassion Massachusetts team is a partnership comprised of the University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute, the New England Network for Child, Youth & Family Services, the Berkshire Youth Development Project, and the Barnstable Justice for Youth Collaborative.  The grant monies will build the capacity of between seven and ten identified faith based and community organizations through an integrated program combining organizational assessment, training & technical assistance, and annual sub-awards of $200,000 total for selected local organizations in both Berkshire and Barnstable Counties.
