The Republican/ MassLive: MassBenchmarks: Massachusetts economy will grow by 4.1 percent in next 6 months

The Republican/MassLive summarized the findings of the latest MassBenchmarks bulletin on the state of the Massachusetts economy. During the first quarter of 2014, while the U.S. economy grew at 0.1 percent, the Commonwealth’s economy grew at a 2.6 percent rate, with a 4.1 percent growth forecast over the coming six months.

Economists credit a moderate increase in employment, up 1.2 percent, along with improving salaries and state withholding tax collections.
