Applied Research & Program Evaluation

Studies of Economic and Workforce Development

ARPE staff have conducted numerous studies focused on economic and workforce development issues, often collaborating with the Institute's Economic and Public Policy Research group in the implementation of these studies, building upon our complementary capacities. We partner with institutions and programs to ensure that they receive an objective third-party research project, employing mixed methods that dig beneath publicly available data. This approach allows us to develop deeper understandings of industry and workforce needs, and to thoughtfully examine the efficacy of programs intended to spur growth.

Our team has experience with projects focused on industry needs assessment, identifying the characteristics of emergent industries, and assessing industry response to potential technical assistance initiatives. Our intense engagement with issues of education and career readiness give our team unique perspectives on workforce needs, particularly in areas related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
